New Direction

Getting ready for the  New Year!

Last year had some real highs and lows.  The lows took me away from painting while dealing with a parent with Alzheimer's.  The high was hiking in Arizona, seeing Sedona and taking a painting workshop.

Now after a long absence from painting I am faced with the nagging "how long will it take to get back to were I was?"   My plan is to start with value studies first and do Notan drills.   I think it is more of a head thing right now, once I get rested and unpacked things should start to fall into place.

Thank You for your support.
Happy Painting!

  1. Jackyln, It's so good to see your paintings again! Things will fall back in place once you are settled and less distracted. It won't take as much time as you think. I too had a crazy year that took me away from painting. Coming back was a struggle at first, then it fell in place. I started with value studies also, and PKR videos. It helped a lot. Love this little landscape. Your marks are always amazing!

    1. Cathy,
What do I say to such great encouragement?
I wrestled with sharing what has been going on personally, but decided it was better than people thinking I was just lazy! Your sharing about getting back to your painting means a lot! Thank You!

  2. Sorry to hear about your woes. I love this painting and I don't think it will take you long to feel comfortable again. It's like riding a bike. I'm particularly looking forward to your Notan.

If it helps, I'm having an ART PARTY over at my blog where you can post your work and/or vote and encourage the other artists. There are also prizes.

    1. Sharon,
I wrote something about this above.
I didn't know whether to write about something so personal that had been going on for so long, or let people just think I was lazy? That is why I finally wrote about it. I am sorry your lost your Mother in such a way. Thank you for your Good Wishes!
