Hanging Out

Hanging Out

(14x11 Oil)

This is my daughters Cairn Terrier, Casey.
She loves to stretch out as big as she can,  in the softest spot in the room.

I painted this trying to capture the many grey's in Casey's coat.
She also changes colors with the seasons and you never know what color she will be next!

  1. AS the previous long time owner of a bright, lovable Cairn, I adored this the moment i saw it. The EYES...captured perfectly. I know the expression and the position on the head so well. Brilliant job.

    1. Julie, I wanted to paint this little Cairn Terrier for sometime, but she kept changing colors and I wasn't sure "how" to paint the varied grays?
Thank you for your wonderfully encouraging comment!

  2. Wonderful expressive eyes and proportions on this pup's stretched out body. Also the hair is very believable. Lovely!
