Why the title?   Well, one apple has a stem and one doesn't!

I returned to the brush today after using the palette knife for a long time, I thought it might go faster?
I Learned whatever tool you are comfortable with, that is the tool you should use!

You Dropped Something!

It may seem funny to paint a watermelon at this time of year! 

But a friend just gave me this melon from her own garden! 

The melon was so huge I couldn't lift it!

And the color inside was so beautiful, 

I knew I had to paint it!

See the little seed beside the melon slice?
 That is why I gave this painting the title
 "You Dropped Something!"

Almost There

I painted this Palette knife painting while looking at another painting I have done.  

They were the same subject,  the big difference was the format.  

The first painting was a 6x12 inches, and this canvas is 8X8 inches. 

 This is the first time I have tried to do something like this, painting using one of my own paintings for a subject. 

 I found out the same subject, done in a different format needs some changes for the overall design to work!  

So it didn't turn out to be a copy after all, but an happy original!

Thunder Bird

Ok, why the title?  When I took the photo and turned it to black-and-white, a Thunderbird appeared in the sky!  What could I do?  I had to give this Spirit credit.

What did I learn today?  This is the second painting for this panel!  I have had trouble in the past, seeing that I needed to scrape a painting.   Instead of being afraid to scrape and begin again, doing it was freeing!  Not everything will work and not every painting is a keeper.
