Bill Cramer Workshop

I joined the "Plein Air Painters of Arizona" for a two day painting workshop with Bill Cramer in Prescott Arizona!  I can't say enough Good Things about the people I painted with, they were a helpful, fun group!

Plein Air - Lake Watson, Prescott Arizona by Jacklyn Karabaich

 Two days of blissful painting!
Up at 4:00am to meet by 6:00am and hauling my equipment to painting sites
with NO bathroom facilities!
It was like a mini Boot Camp!
What made it all worthwhile was the instructor, Bill Cramer.  Bill designed his paintings as he taught, and told why he was moving things around in the scene.
Knowing to not just paint-the-scene-in-front-of-me, but design a well thought out painting is something that comes with experience.  Bill has this experience and painting skill along with a great sense of humor!  Given the chance, I would take his workshop again!

  6. Jacklyn this is wonderful! You have my respect for putting yourself in this position of roughing it. Sounds brutal but your painting is a great testament to what you got out of the workshop. Really impressive work! And I love the photo with the kayaks. It's just screaming to be painted!

    1. Terri, Thank You for your wonderful comments!
The Workshop made me re-think my plein air gear.
Everyone seemed to have a backpack and how I KNOW why, my trusty rolling cart had to be lifted over rocks!
I am thinking about doing more lake paintings.

  7. I love this painting! I wish I could have taken this workshop. I did the Sedona workshop with Bill in March and loved his teaching style, but yes, he runs a boot camp workshop for sure. We managed to hold him off until 8:00am every morning, but he is definitely an early bird plein air painter. Keep up the good work!

Nice to hear your Workshop experience, makes me think I can do it again!
It would be even better starting at 8:00am, since I am not an early bird, and maybe I would have more paintings to share!
